While guidance from a teacher is important to keeping kids on task and motivated, allowing students to have some choice and control over what happens in the classroom is actually one of the best ways to keep them engaged. For example, allowing students to choose the type of assignment they do or which problems to work on can give them a sense of control that may just motivate them to do more.\u00a0Motivation, both intrinsic and extrinsic, is a key factor in the success of students at all stages of their education, and teachers can play a pivotal role in providing and encouraging that motivation in their students. Of course, that\u2019s easier said than done, as all students are motivated differently and it takes time and a lot of effort to learn to get a classroom full of kids enthusiastic about learning, working hard, and pushing themselves to excel.<\/p>\n
The secret recipe to inspiring employees is to know the \u201cingredients\u201d of the people you are inspiring.\u00a0 People want to know that their leaders understand their tendencies, aptitudes and behaviors well-enough to best work with and motivate them.\u00a0\u00a0 The best leaders and coaches always do. When you spend time with your employees, make it matter.\u00a0\u00a0 Don\u2019t just expect your time and title to inspire them.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Employees want a leader that pays attention and genuinely cares about them.<\/p>\n\n
